Last Thursday (October, 20) we organized in our offices a conference on “Alternatives to animal feed with antibiotics, Denmark case”
Dr.Niels Jørgen Kjeldsen, the director of the Danish Swine Research Centre SEGES in Copenhagen was the one who explained the subject.
With an experience of over 25 years in the pig sector, Niels expounded the national strategies that allowed Denmark to become a reference country in policies to reduce the use of antibiotics.
Through practical examples, we could review the current alternatives such as management, biosecurity, preventive medicine.
All these actions, which led to a significant decrease in the use of antibiotics, are the result of the cooperation between industry and administrations.
